How to Adjust Your Pinterest Privacy Settings
HOW CAN I CONTROL MY PRIVACY ON Pinterest?
Pinterest does not allow you to create a private account. However, you may create secret pinboards that are invite-only. Because of these relaxed privacy rules, you may consider using fake personal information — like a made-up name and a throw-away email address (that you only use for this account) — when creating your account.
There are many settings you can change on Pinterest. To access your account options, click on your profile icon in the top right corner, select settings. You may also visit Pinterest.com/settings. From here, you can update your password, change your email notification settings, and more.
Password: Create a strong, unique password that contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Change your password at least every 90 days.
Search privacy: Disable this feature to prevent your Pinterest from appearing in search results on Google, Bing, Yahoo or others.
Visit the apps panel next to review and edit App permission. Because apps are owned and operated by third parties, they may jeopardize the security of your account. They also collect an abundance of information from your profile that may be overly intrusive.
To create a secret board, visit your profile and scroll to the bottom of your boards. Select “create a secret board.”
You must grant users permission before they can view this board.
You may also change a preexisting board’s visibility by selecting “edit” and toggling the “Secret” tab to “Yes.”
